why is it one or the other? My grandmother was born in County Cork.

Same here, more or less -- Ashkenazi and Irish. Those two only came together in this country, though.

Better luck next year, JDub and Geoffrey--it's a lot easier for Irish Jewish eyes to be smiling when an Irish Jew isn't fasting.

Ha! Thanks, I sure hope so. I have a weird tendency to get sick whenever a minor fast rolls around, and today is no exception. I think it's a plot by my body to make me eat.

The Fast was only for 14 hours... that left 10 hours to get your drink on....
